Super Hero Kids Walkathon
Friday, October 11th
Are you ready for some high flying fun at the 2019 Country Lane Walkathon? This year, our Walkathon will be held on Friday, October 11th during school hours so that all students have the opportunity to participate. The Walkathon is one of Country Lane’s largest fundraising events, providing funding for one-third of the HSC budget. Students will walk the school track (roughly 0.2 mile) for pledges promised by the participant’s sponsors. Prizes are awarded to students for different levels based on the number of laps completed.
Schedule of Events:
9:00 am to 9:45 am - TK, K, 1st grade walk
10:30 am to 12:05 pm - 4th & 5th grade walk
1:15 pm to 2:15 pm - 2nd and 3rd grade walk
3:00 pm to 7:00 pm - Fall Book Fair in Library
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm - After Party/Monster Mash Halloween Dance
Besides being a fun event, 100% of the funds raised will go directly toward programs that benefit all Country Lane students. This year’s money will fund the following: classroom and school-wide supplies, field trips, educational assemblies, Art Vista program, computer equipment and software and much more.
Volunteers Needed!
We need volunteers to help with all the fun events we have planned for the kids on during the Walkathon, After Party/Monster Mash Family Dance and Book Fair. Volunteer positions are open to Middle/High School students (unless marked “Adult/Parent Only”) - this is a great way to earn those community service hours. Two volunteers per classroom are also needed during the classroom walking time - sign up sheets will be posted outside the classroom on October 7.
Raffle Tickets
Our teachers and staff are raffling off amazing experiences such as enjoying a treat, seeing a movie during lunch or winning front row seats to class performances. Raffle tickets are being sold for $1.00 every day from 8:15 am to 8:45 am and from 2:45 pm to 3:15 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday raffle tickets will be sold from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm. Tickets will also be available to purchase at the After Party/Monster Mash Family Dance. Winners will be announced at 6:30 pm at the After Party/Monster Mash Family Dance. You do not need to be present to claim the prize.
Sponsor a Walker
Country Lane Walkathon participants will be walking as many laps as they can during their 45 minute to 1 hour time slot. Show your support by sponsoring them with a flat rate pledge.
