One of the most popular fundraisers of the year is the annual Walk-a-thon.  Help the Home and School Club to fund many programs by earning money at the fun and athletic event for the students.  This year we will be reaching for the stars with our outer space theme! Below are the details for the event:

Fundraiser: Walkathon is our last major fundraiser of the year, and we are asking students to get involved by kindly asking friends, family, and neighbors to sponsor them as they walk/run laps for about 70-90 minutes.You will receive an envelope that you and your student can use to collect both pledges and money. Your student should ask for pledges prior to the Walkathon, then they will walk/run as many laps as they can on the day of the event. Finally, your student should collect their pledged money based on the number of laps completed and return their envelope (with the money) to the school by October 20th.

Walkathon Event: The Walkathon will be held throughout the day on October 13.  The following is the schedule for the different grades:

4th-5th – 8:35-10:05

TK-1st – 10:45-11:55

2nd-3rd – 1:05-2:35

All students will be given a t-shirt to wear the morning of the event. There will be a couple of activities for the kids to do if they need a few minutes break in between laps. We invite you to attend either as a volunteer or as a spectator. Feel free to lace up your running/walking shoes and do a few laps with your student as well!

Space Jam: After the Walk-A-Thon, there will be an Outer Space Themed “Space Jam” Party from 3:30-5:30pm at Country Lane. There will be an intergalactic passport game run by 4th and 5th graders, Prospect High School Robotics Club demos, a food truck, and raffles. More details to come! 

Raffle: The week of the Walkathon we will have a raffle available for the students. Students can buy raffle tickets to put into raffle baskets sponsored by the amazing Country Lane teachers and staff (think Principal for the Day or Movie at lunch).

Silent Auction: We are currently taking donations for any gift items or experiences to auction as part of the fundraiser. This will be part of a Silent Auction which will be held ONLINE this year, starting a week before the date of the Walkathon.
